2009 EVENTS
September 30 - October 4: SAF National Convention, Orlando, FL.
Team Terresense proudly participated as a "Platinum Sponsor" in the 2009 Society of American Foresters (SAF) Annual Conference in Orlando, FL.
Terresense along with teaming partners, Red Rock Enterprises LLC, Sunshine Air, Inc, and Zimmerman Associates Research & Development Group conducted an all day workshop held during the Society of American Foresters Annual Convention in Orlando, FL. The workshop provided the "nuts and bolts" of a forest carbon project, introduced the aerial methodology and clarified the process to encourage forest landowner's involvement. The open forum discussed steps necessary for a forest carbon project utilizing the Terresense, Inc. aerial sensor methodology. Presentations from subject matters experts covered such topics as: project management, forest certification, trading schemes, aerial survey, 3rd party verification, off-set trading, and national cap & trade issues. The well attended workshop brought together forest industry leaders, verifiers, university faculty, and government forestry service members.
Terresense, Inc. would like to thank our partners and the presenters for a very successful workshop and conference.

2008 EVENTS
November 5-8, 2008: Team Terresense was the first ever commercial business "Platinum Sponsor" at the Society of American Foresters (SAF) Annual Conference in Reno, Nevada. The Team consisted of: Terresense, Inc. Red Rock Enterprises LLC, Global Security Solutions-Lockheed Martin, and Zimmerman Associates Research & Development Group. The SAF has a long history of sponsorships supporting the annual event. However, prior to the 2008 Conference, the Platinum Sponsorship was limited to government agencies. Team Terresense was honored to be the first commercial "Platinum Sponsor" supporting the conference; setting the standard for future conferences where additional commercial entities can support the SAF at this level.
Team Terresense held a very successful workshop that introduced our forest carbon project methodology and aerial sensor technology. Red Rock introduced the Team’s 10-Step Forest Carbon Sequestration Solution. The solution provides aggregators, forest managers, and forest landowners with a cost-effective approach to their requirements. The 10-Step process can be adjusted to accommodate ongoing forest carbon projects, as well as partially completed, planned or new projects.
Terresense, Inc. introduced the advanced aerial technology used to complete the Forest Inventory Step in the 10-Step process. The aerial survey measures 100% of the project area and provides a highly accurate forest biomass density value that is then converted to carbon tons. The total project inventory, the rapid and repeatable, as well as accurate, measurement and the comparably low cost relative to current survey methods highlight the benefits of the Terresense solution.
Throughout the conference, TeamTerresense met with various forest landowners, commercial and government forest managers, research scientists, and students at our exhibit booth in the main conference hall. Visitors were very excited about the aerial technology that makes the 10-Step Forest Carbon Sequestration Solution very appealing. Most of the expense associated with a forest project submission is centered on the inventory. Our aerial technology significantly reduces the survey cost, putting more dollars in the pocket of the project owner.
The keynote address for the conference was provided by Michael Walsh, Executive Vice President of the Chicago Climate Exchange and the European Climate Exchange. Mr. Walsh was very enthusiastic concerning the current forest projects and the contributions that forests will provide in the future.
Terresense, Inc. would like to thank our Team members for a very successful conference. The positive feedback we received at the conference suggests that Team Terresense will have many opportunities to assist the forest community with their participation in the carbon sequestration market.
May 6-8: Washington State SAF Annual Meeting
July 1, 2008: Terresense, Inc. was invited to make a presentation at the Northern Area Association of State Foresters (NAASF), State Lands Management & Forest Resources Planning Committees Conference, held on June 24th-26th, in conjunction with their theme "Forest Management Technology & Innovations."
